Specialist Remote Solutions for Water Infrastructure
Valmar Tank Solutions provides ROV inspection, robotic cleaning and condition-assessment services for drinking water, wastewater, fire water and industrial water infrastructure.

What we do
We combine hands-on water infrastructure experience with remotely operated technology to help asset owners access areas that can otherwise require draining, confined-space entry or specialist submerged work.
Our role is practical: establish what is inside the asset, document its condition, remove sediment or sludge where required and provide useful information for maintenance planning.
Valmar Tank Solutions is the tank inspection and robotic cleaning arm of the Valmar group, based in Tauranga alongside Valmar Plumbing. The water-infrastructure experience behind the ROV work comes from that side of the business; the equipment - VAC Boss, Sludge Boss and the inspection ROVs - is what lets us apply it without putting people in the water.
Who we work with
- Councils and water service providers
- Drinking water suppliers
- Water and wastewater treatment facilities
- Industrial and commercial asset owners
- Facilities and property managers
- Fire protection contractors and building owners
- Infrastructure operators and maintenance teams
Our approach
We do not assume every asset needs the same method. Before recommending cleaning, we consider asset configuration, access, water quality, inlets and outlets, sediment or sludge conditions, operating constraints and the client's maintenance obligations.
- Inspect before cleaning - establish actual conditions first.
- Reduce personnel exposure - remote systems can reduce the need for confined or submerged entry.
- Reduce unnecessary disruption - work can often be planned without automatically defaulting to a full drain-down.
- Evidence-based reporting - capture before, during and after visual records.
- Asset-specific methodology - access, outlets, water quality, sediment, sludge and operating conditions are assessed before work proceeds.
- One practical team - inspection, robotic cleaning, conventional cleaning and supporting maintenance can be combined where required.
Safety - reducing exposure to confined and submerged environments
Remote technology can reduce the need for personnel to enter tanks, reservoirs and other potentially hazardous submerged environments. It can also provide visibility of internal conditions before any conventional entry is planned.
- Reduce confined-space exposure where remote access is suitable
- Reduce submerged personnel exposure
- Reduce reliance on specialist entry methods for suitable inspections and cleaning
- Improve pre-entry understanding of internal conditions
- Support better planning of access, isolation and maintenance work
Remote technology does not eliminate site hazards. Each project requires suitable site safety, isolation, contamination, water-quality, electrical, lifting, access and operational controls.
Where we work
We are based in Tauranga in the Bay of Plenty and work across New Zealand. The equipment travels; the method is decided asset by asset.

Inspect. Assess. Clean. Report.
The same six steps on every asset, whether the outcome is a remote clean, a conventional drain-down or simply a clear picture of what is inside.
-
Assess
Understand the asset, operating constraints and required outcome.
-
Inspect
Establish actual submerged condition, sediment or sludge accumulation and access constraints.
-
Plan
Select the appropriate remote, conventional or hybrid methodology.
-
Clean
Remove sediment or sludge in a controlled manner where cleaning is required.
-
Verify
Capture visual evidence of the completed work.
-
Report
Provide findings, records and practical maintenance recommendations.
Other Services
Remote inspection and cleaning for drinking water, wastewater, fire water and industrial water assets across New Zealand. Every job starts with an inspection, so the method is chosen from what is actually inside the asset.

Start with an inspection. We can help establish the condition of the asset and recommend a practical next step based on what is actually found. Tell us what the asset is, roughly where it is and what you need to know, and we will come back to you.

Helpful to have on hand: the asset type and approximate size, depth, access arrangement, floor or liner type, and whether it can stay in service. If you do not know yet, that is fine - the inspection is how we find out.
